Repair shop damage - HELP

Last week I dropped my car off at an auto repair shop in Michigan. When I picked it up there was a big dent on the side of the truck. The owner told me to get a quote from an auto repair shop and he would pay for some of the damage.

Can I take him to small claims court for the complete $800 in repair cost? I don't have any pictures of my car before I took it in. It would just be his word against mine.

If he is asking you to get estimates then there is no need to take him to court. It's only when he refises to pay that you sue him.
