He was convicted of one felony count of burglary and has served he's time for that case. He was then given 5 year felony probation which he has violated by not checking in with he probation Officer and by not paying he's restitution. What is the best way to get him back into the system without serving time in jail. And us not being able to pay he restitution. What is the best way around this whole situation? I would like to know in all aspect of the outcome from the best to the worst. Because I know he is much more than what he has become.

whose fault is it that he doesn't check in? my bf was in the same boat he didn't go in for year and half our county changed po's so his file got "misplaced" and for some reason his name finally did come up! but the po said it was there fault to not only my bf's because they didn't follow up on him. after that he started going every month, but our probation fees in indiana are only $15 a month. if this is someone important to you i would have him go in asap to talk to his po try to get on their good side cuz where i live they pretty much decide what to do with you. plus, the prosector if it goes to court will bring up all his history and he may get his probation revolked. then may spend more time in jail and then more probation after that. which will cost you/him more money. i know it sucks to check in but it saves you alot of hassle later.

There is a whole range of things that a court could do to him for not checking in with the probation officer, from giving him a warning to making him serve the sentence for the crime he is on probation for. Chances are he was also not checking in with his parole officer. For that he can be returned to custody for up to a year. They cannot lock him up for the restitution alone, assuming he does not have the means to pay it.
