In 1982 I had a car loan with a local bank in Cleveland, OH. After a year I was out of a job and the car was repoed and sold at auction. And as usual it was sold to a number of collection agencies. I am currently in Florida and I received a collection call from an agency here in Florida. They want to make a deal for us to pay a portion of the balance owed.

Due to it being 22 years from the original contract written in Ohio, I'm thinking that the statute of limitations is up. But I am unsure about the Florida laws. Can they use the Florida laws for a contract written in Ohio?

I think my situation is the same as repo's and they can't do anything.
(Hoping on a miracle)

22 years, the SOL has run long ago. Send a letter saying you've no recollection of the alleged debt and in any event, it is out of statute and to never contact you about this matter again. Send the letter CRRR.
