What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
My sister-in-law has two loans from a small finance company. She has a car loan and a personal loan with them. She got the car loan first. She got the personal loan second and used personal property for collateral for this. (computer, lawn mower, etc.) She is currently 60days late on her personal loan and not even 30days late on her car loan. The finance company called and left her a message in regards to the car asking about her car loan (before 12pm) Monday they repossessed her vehicle (before 12pm) Tuesday she received a certified letter. It doesn't list what loan she defaulted on and doesn't stat an amount. It does say if she doesn't pay the past due amount plus 250 towing fee before December 4th the vehicle will be sold. She went to the holding lot to retrieve her belongings from the vehicle and they refused to let her get her things. She had to call the law and when she retrieved her things, she noticed her paperwork for her loans were missing from the glove compartment and change missing from the center compartment. She went to the finance company to get copies of her paperwork and they refused to give it to her. Are any of her rights being violated and should she talk to a lawyer before giving their $800.

**A: I don't see how any of her rights were violated. If she read the paperwork it's in there.
