I had 4 months left on my auto loan. We got behind in bills due to my wifes layoff. I am three months late on my auto loan. I let the lending bank know of pending payments. I made the first payment to get back on track and they accepted it. The next payment they sent back and last night they repossessed the auto. I owed less than $2000.00 of a 20,000.00 loan. I did not receive anything stating that they were going to hold me in default. Is there anything I can do? If not, I had a company owned laptop computer in the truck along with various other personal items. Can I get those things from the people who repossessed the auto?

I would suggest you be at the impound yard with the payoff first thing Monday morning and get the truck and your possessions back.
