I have had an account with a leading internet telephony (PC - Phone) company and have made regular calls, prepaying for them with my Visa. 3 weeks ago my partner attempted to add funds to the account using her own credit card. The funds were withdrawn from the account but during the companies 'verification' process something apparently went wrong and they immediately 'disabled' my account, preventing me from making calls. Dispite they withdrew the funds from my partners account it was not successfully refunded and dispite numourous emails to the company I have recieved no reply except that for them to review my account status I must fax a copy of my account statement. This cannot be done, as to begin with my partner and I are away from home, and both our account statements are sent to our home addresses, and neither of us have access to a fax machine. My last two emails requested that if they could not reactivate the account then could they please refund the money to the applicable accounts yet I still recieve a demand for my account statement. Does a company have a legal right to demand an account statement?? How can i get my account reactivated or my money refunded??
