What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

I am trying to cancel an account with a company that claims to assist in providing credit reports and credit notices. This company has been involved in class action suits in the past for deceptive sales practices, mainly signing consumers up for accounts through gaining banking information from their marketing partner, a large, well know bank, without the consumers consent.

I have tried to cancel this account in the past, but am attempting to be more diligent by getting as much backup as I can. The company appears to be acting deceptively in cancelling my account, and refuses to provide written confirmation the account is cancelled. I expect they will maliciously charge my card again in the future when the account becomes due again. I understand I can cancel the card or dispute charges, and that it's illegal for this company to obtain information on my other accounts from my bank, and that my bank cannot refuse a chargeback do to a licensing agreement with a business partner, however I am simply trying to be proactive this time by getting written documentation the account was cancelled. Where do I go from here? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Something in writing from a company that is scamming people would be worthless because they are scammers after all. They could put on a Broadway quality musical in your back yard all about how they canceled your account and it wouldn't mean anything if their intention is to scam you. Why would you think a letter from a deceptive company means anything?

If you are all that concerned about your card being charged again then you will need to report that card as compromised and get a new one issued.

Yes, it's probably a safe bet to do just that and not be overly concerned about the rumors on the internet about the marketing companies partnership with my bank as a way for them to access my other bank accounts to charge the fees, seems rediculous the more I think about it...
