Nightmare first home purchase 6 months ago. Inspector missed biggies... rotting windows/doors, siding defect (cedar touching roof shingles soaking up water), major drainage/moisture issues, (active wet basement blocks) etc. Hired inspector #2, documented what first one missed, have repair estimates totalling at least $10k, have pics of rotting windows/door, mold, wet basement blocks, etc. Already have receipts from plumber (twice), electrician (problem still not solved), and an exterminator. After a lawyer consultation waste of time (sided for the seller), someone suggested rescind offer to purchase, and that I consult someone else. What do you think???
