What is the name of your state? Georgia
If you are visiting another state,(Ohio) and are there for an extended period of time, how long do you have to be ther to be considered a resident? I was told it was 30 days, but I certainly hope not. I'd hate to live here. It's such a dreary, boring state.

So don't visit it, if it's so boring!

Your residence is where your home is. It's where you get your mail, where you vote, where you get your driver's license and plates. It's where you're employed. If you're unemployed, sleeping on a friend's couch while all your stuff is in another state, then you'd be hard pressed to call yourself a resident.

You could be visiting for 10 years. It depends. What is your INTENT regarding where you live?

In regard to it's a boring state, I'm not visiting by choice, but, I was wondering, because I have family here and I didn't want to be considered a resident if I overstayed longer than I was suppose to. I was just wondering, because I can't wait to be back in Georgia.

If you are a minor, your residence is where your parents are. I presume you will be attending and enrolled in school if you are visiting Ohio for that long, right?

Possibly, but not necessarily. If they still legally have control over the minor, that's probably true.
