What is the name of your state? Ohio

I am doing a lease with the option to purchase. There is a section in my contract that I do not understand: "this liease is subject to all valid sections of the Ohio Revised Code, which regulates the respective rights and obligations of landlords and tenants. Any provision herein contrary to said laws shall be of no force and effect; Any sections of the law which are contrary to the said provisions shall be substituted therefore."

Does this mean that my landlord isn't responsible for any repairs to the property? There is another section in the contract that says that we are responsible for for maintaining the property at our expense (it lists appliances, plumbing, etc).

The Ohio Revised Code specifically defines landlord/tenant responsibilities but the lease also says that the landlord doesn't have to make any repairs.

I'm confused.
