Resignation and short term disability

I have handed in my two week resignation and I have a physical disability that was diagnosed about a year ago . I have been with my company for almost five years can I apply to the short term disability they provide even though I am resigning while collecting until I can get mt social security disability?

What should I look at the company sedgewick and can I ask them without risk of bein fired a question like that?

You ask for a copy of the Summary Plan Description. They are required by law to give it to you on request.

If you've already given your notice, what difference does it make if they fire you?
