What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

My ex mailed me the response for the initial divorce petition, but it was not filed with the court. Can I file a default since it was never filed with the court? Could the mailed response impact the default?

If your ex did not submit his or her response within the thirty day window, you can ask for a default.

The court may grant the default or it might continue the case untuil the other party responds.

Thank you for your response...I had a feeling that might be the case...I guess I'll ask for the default and see what happens :)

On another note...On the initial petition I was able to keep my current address confidential due to domestic violence. Is it possible to keep my work address confidential as well, or am I required to disclose that information?
