Hi, I am from York, Pennsylvania. I need to know what my responsibilities are when selling a puppy. Here;s what happened: My female dog gave birth to a litter of eight. When it was time I took all eight to the vet for their first set of shots and examinations. The vet gave told me that I did a great job and that they were all fine.I sold all of the pups! I agreed to keep a pup an exta two weeks for a lady who owned a florist shop and it was during Valentine's Day. She came took the puppy home and had taken her to her vet for her next set of shots and to be checked over. She contacted me to tell me that the pup had a condition that means that she has a loose knee on one of her back legs. And that it is genetic. She want me to give her money towards an operation and asked for a partial refund of the dog of $250. She asked me to look into my heart and to please think about this. So I thought that I had to give her this. So in e-mails I agreed, until my husband spoke to our vet who said that she may grow out of this. So my question is legally what is my responsibility? I am willing to refund her in full and take the pup back. If she doesn't want to return the dog what are my legal rights with this? Thank you and please get back to me as soon as you possibly can, Cherub

My response:

Please copy and paste the exact e-mails you both sent to each other (edit out the names). I want to read what she said, and what you "agreed" to do, or not do.
