When my mother applied for a couple of credit cards she requested that a card be sent to me also. I was NOT listed as a guarantor nor was my income included in repayment of debt. However, my credit report has her balances listed and shows me as a joint holder. I have never used them and don't even have the cards anymore as they were intended only if I needed to get something for her in an emergency. Is there any way I can get my name removed and these taken off of my credit report? I could really use some advice as I am in the process of paying off a lot of my own accounts and cleaning up my credit. Thank you in advance.

You can probably get the accounts removed from your reports by simply calling the bank. As far as getting a "credit education" I highly recommend the message boards at www.creditnet.com It is a very active board with many credit experts. Check it out.
