Florida. My wife and I have a lot of restitution and court costs. My juvenile son is 16 and we are only able to pay 50 dollars a month. Once the juvenile turns 18 can the burden of the rest of these costs fall upon him? Thanks for your help.

Why is Junior not out job-hunting so he can pay his own restitution/court costs?

The sad reality is that jr is going to have a devil of a time finding said job. I don't know too many employers who are willing to hire 16yr olds in the first place, I know even fewer who would be willing to hire 16yr olds who have already demonstrated they're criminals.

Did the court order you, specifically, to pay these or was it your son and you are paying out of the goodness of your heart or were both you and the child made liable for the monies?
