I live in florida. I had a one year lease with my apartment complex which was to terminate march 31st 2001, today. However, my moved most of my belongings out last week in order to not have to rush. On the 28th, of this month I was clearing out some stuff when the manager came and said the painters were coming. I informed him that I still had belongings in there and he said that they still needed to paint because sunday the 1st of April new tenants were moving in. I allowed them to paint but nothing else. On the next day they allowed a cleaning lady in who stole $7,000.00 dollars worth of my stuff. I made a police report. The woman now is returning my stuff but it may not be complete and the hurt i felt from being robbed is irreplaceable. Who is liable for the theft? Where they allowed to let cleaning ladys in there when I am still paying rent? And do both the cleaning company and the apartment complex owe me restitutions even if all is returned since it was negligence to allow someone in my apartment without my consent?

Well welcome TO REDNECK COUNTRY, You have met the scummiest low life people on earth. They have No consideration for human life, no respect and above all HOW DARE YOU think they might lose one days rent, OR WORK ON THEIR DRINKING DAYS (weekends) just to wait for you to move all you stuff! ...... you dont know REDNECKS!

I would press criminal charges against the cleaning lady,...YOU MUST FILE CHARGES...even if she returns the stuff... and hold the apartment and the cleaning company complex financially liable for any loss since they hired her, and you still had posession of the apartment.

Also see if she is an Illegal Alien, and report her to immigration and the cleaning company too for hiring Illegals.....they deserve it!

NOW do you see that value in having renters insurance...you could have lost a shiiiitttt load of money, if she wasn't caught!

I had no insurance, I already moved out except not all my stuff. The problem is who is going to pay for my loss and suffering do i have a case to bring to the table? And can I sue them for negligence even if most the items are returned?

If the management told you that painters were coming and also a cleaner the next day, then they have fulfilled their responsibility.

mary hartman (aka dj, aka dj1) has such a mentally disturbed attitude, he cannot even think about confirming all of the necessary facts.

I don't believe that he has ever sued anyone in his life, much less won an award.
