What is the name of your state? Il. I'd like some information on what exactly is retaliatory discharge, and the fact that I was pretty much coerced into quitting, how and what kind of action if any I could take. What is the time frame to file a claim and can I get my job back. thank you **************....

Usually a retaliatory discharge is being fired or making your job situation so intolerable that you had to leave because of something you did --- like report the employer for unsafe work conditions, harassment, etc. (they cannot do that) I don't know the details of your situation - it would be best to talk to an employment attorney. ( or you can contact EEOC or OSHA to report them & they will take it from there)

Go online and visit the IL Dept of Labor--Retalitory discharge for a workers compensation injury falls under wrongful termination.

There are online claim forms you can fill out and submit right then. You will need details and documentation to support this, so attach anything you have and mail it in.

Sorry--I was assuming it was a work related injury.

However, retalitation for "whistle blowers" is still considered wrongful termination. Check that site, it will give you all the details.
