What is the name of your state? Florida

I am controller for a company in Florida and because we are small I also am also involved in human resource matters. Our Sales reps are in different states and some have company autos. Our rep for Georgia just faxed us a resignation letter. Our contract with him states "Upon the termination of the Employee's employment for any reason, the Employee shall immediately return said automobile to the company." His letter states he will overnight the keys and the auto is at his apartment complex with company property

I'll make a guess and we'll see if I'm correct when Al posts back.

I'm guessing that the question is since the employee did not return the car to the employer as specified in his contract, can the employer withhold the cost of having the car driven or transported back to HQ from the sales rep's final pay?

Care to make a guess of your own, cbg?

Al - how close was I?

You took mine so I'll guess that he wants to know if he can legally force the guy to drive the car back.

Gee, this is fun, anyone else want to play?

Al, we'll answer your question as soon as we know what it is.
