Returning an Egagement Ring that was given on 12/25/94

"DE" On 12/25/94,I received an Engagment Ring. That was the only "gift" I received on that day from my former boyfriend. After almost 7 years of an on and off relationship he decided that we need to go our separate ways which was fine with me. After still wearing the ring it was left on the sink after washing my hands at a night club. Now my ex-boyfriend is asking for the ring back which I don't have. Should I have to paid for the cost of the ring after 7 years? We also are going through a Child Support battle at the present time, which I know is the reason he is requesting the ring back even though I don't have it. Please advise if he has a case if he takes me to small claims court.
