Georgia. I am selling a house, will a judgement show up? an if it does will I be required to pay it? The judgement was made by a company that went out of business but sold its accounts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The judgement was the balance on a repossesed auto.

If the judgment was recorded properly, then yep, chances are good that it will show up as a lien on your property.A title search will answer your question for sure. Also,a quick trip to the county office that has your deed recorded will give you your answer.

You will need to pay the judgment if you want to sell your house.Unless you have a valid reason to avoid the judicial lien, such as: the debt was discharged in bankruptcy.
