What is the name of your state? Im in NY. Went to a storage auction today.)))) If the owner of the contents defaults payment on the items the storage company now owns the property. I gave the storage company my information name address and phone number I had to register to bid on the units. I won a unit and all contents inside. Purchasing it for $125. I recieved a phone call from the owner of all the items tonight same day as the auction. She wanted all her items back and she was crying begging me for the items I purchased. My name and phone number was given to her from the storage company. Can the storage company just give this information out? Or is there a law that protects me from this type of thing? Thanks
