hi,

i have a question. if i am writing a book about myself, am i free to name my parents even if they don't want me to? they are not public figures. by extension, am i then allowed to name my grandparents, etc.?
one of my parents is deceased, and her relatives don't want her name mentioned-- what are my rights?

i live in NY, but if published, i don't know what this means for jurisdiction. any advice would be helpful, thanks!
