I live in Tennessee. I was pulled over for doing 40+ in a 25 at night. I was in 2nd gear and I was not traveling as fast as the officer claimed I was.

Do you have the right to see the radar gun's reading if asked? Do most counties record video including the speed of the radar, not the speed of the officer's car? This officer lied to me about several things including his badge number during the stop. I feel that I am being harassed and I have no record of such speeding before this stop.

Even if you saw the radar you would have some other excuse for arguing, probably something like "how do I know that was my car?"...

The fact that you never got a speeding ticket before is not a defense and it's something a judge won't care about during a trial.

How were you harassed? Being stopped for speeding is not being harassed.

Things to keep in mind:

An officer trained in RADAR is actually trained on how to visually estimate speeds; RADAR is merely there to confirm his visual estimation.

Also, if a reading is locked into the RADAR, all that means is the RADAR clocked "something" at whatever speed was locked in.

For safety reasons, many officers may [legally] choose to not show the RADAR reading.

Even if you did see the reading, what would that have accomplished?
