I received a ticket from a camera at a red light in Los Angeles, California, where you can make a right turn at a red light.
You are supposed to stop before making the turn which I always do. I’m almost certain I did stop even though I might have been rolling very slow and didn't come to a complete stop (which people in California at a stoplight a California roll lol ) the ticket shows I was going 15 miles an hour, which is way too fast and and I’m 100% sure I didn’t go that fast turning at the red light, but I’m assuming the speed doesn’t matter but also if the vehicle was at a complete stop. What would be the best way of fighting a ticket and might be able to do it myself or do I need a lawyer . The vehicle is registered to my company. By the way the picture from the red light camera shows my face and the license plate pretty clear. I have a court date this Friday. Looking forward to any good advice.

Thank you ! I like the Wikihow article : a guide to beating a red light picture ticket in California. As often suggested, I might hire a lawer. Traffic school is not an option because I did one in the last 18 months so I will have to fight the ticket. I think to get the maintenance recored of the camera is a very good start !

I don't know what you mean by "best way." I can't conceive of paying whatever a lawyer might charge.

Challenge it if you like, but you'll need something more than this: "I’m almost certain I did stop even though I might have been rolling very slow and didn't come to a complete stop." That right there is an admission of guilt. The fact that the "California stop" exists is not a defense.

Is the frequency with which you're apparently getting tickets getting through to you? Traffic laws aren't mere suggestions.

Yep, people roll through stops/reds all the time. You got caught.

I hate when people roll reds/stops. I've seen many near misses because of this. I don't do it.
