Righting an Incredible Series of Wrongs

Please advise:

I have reason to believe that I have been slandered horribly! What can I do to have the truth spread instead of the lies? The slander has been going on for several years. I hesitated to do anything about it because I suspected that those near and dear to me had something to do with it. Now, I am fed up--even with them--and want to pursue a course of action that will cause all to publicly apologize for their slander!

-I have been accused of being an alcoholic
I have never taken a drink of alcohol

-I have been accused of abandoning, abusing,
and aborting children
-I am a 55-year old virgen!

-I have been accused of being a drug addict
I have never even used drugs

-I have been accused of being a drug dealer
I have never dealt in drugs, as I believe
they come from Hell, itself

-I have never smoked, never used profanity
and never taken God's name in vain
I am, however, guilty of gluttony, excessive
pride, excessive anger and even of being
rather silly--These are my sins, and I would
like to put an end to the other false
accusations!

How can this be done as painlessly as possible to all?

I believe slander is a civil matter in most areas. You will have to file suit against the person(s) that you believe are slandering you. You must be able to prove that the slander is untrue and that the person you are accusing is the person that did it. You will be able to get a monetary reward if you prove your case.
