What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? nevada

person attempted suicide, revived in hospital, medically cleared now by his doctor to go to LVMH for psych eval.scared not knowing his rights during this incident; Case worker stated making out a "petition so LVMH will take him because he cant just walk to its door and admit himself." Is this correct cause she wont let him see this "petition" and he's unsure what it entails. He needs to know his rights and Is this a court order petition for him to seek psych eval for a certain period of time to lock him up or does the psychiatrist and the patient determine length of stay. Thank you for your considerations.
Sincerely,

As in married?

That is to say do you have any rights or powers to make health care decisions for him?

The bottom line is that however this goes down, he won't be locked up forever or in all likelihood even a substantial amount of time.

Inpatient treatment is really the only option for a person who has carried out a suicide plan that was serious enough to require 'reviving'.

Seconded, please, with vigorous agreement to the bolded.
