Rights to publish true story. Consequences if journal used as evidence in court?ce

I have kept a detailed journal for years. I would like to publish it. I am also considering going to court to prove emotional abuse and coercion. I have been advised that submitting my journal may help me to prove my case. If my journal becomes "public record" how will that affect other issues of the subject's right to privacy if I am able to get it published?
