What is the name of your state? NJ

Twice! The first time was on EBAY. I went to buy a car. I was sent a spoof email and at the time I didn't know what the hell is was. SO I westeren Union'd money to someone in Chicago. I contacted my local police department months ago and didnt hear anything back. I got an email from a girl in CA who got ripped off by the same guy for the same amount on the same day. Apparently the Ebayer's account got "hacked" into and he contacted me via IM. I sent everything to the police but realistically, what can I do?
