What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Calif.
I was working as a laborer for accompany who was subcontracting for the marine corp community sevices at Miramar air base during the recent air show. we installed electrical service for vendors and other venues. we were only paid regular wages for the duration. I have been told by contractors that it is prevailing wage for the work done and I have tried to research it on line personally. for what Ive been able to learn we were to be paid prevailing. my question is is there a way they are able to avoid payiny the prevailing wages to employees ?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

one of the easiest ways to get this info is call a local union hall (if you were doing electrical, the local IBEW hall). They love to help folks file for their wages if they were screwed out of them in situations such as this (if prevailing wage is mandated)
