I was a victim of road rage in august of 99". the othe left the scene but he came back about 45 minutes later. he was only charged with making an illegal lane change. I am black and I am in SC. He was white. I substained a neck injury and had to have surgery in may. I have pre-existing conditions. my attorney says that this could complicate things. my previous injuries are to my low back and I have had previous injury to my neck but not the same disk. this is my third attorney on this case. the first one i dismissed because he never answered my calls. the second one did the same thing and when i was going to fire him he called me and told me that he was very busy and with my permission sent my file to an associate. I let him do this because I had heard of this other attorney and that he was fairly good. I supplied them with all my medical records from my previous injuries, pictures of the car showing plainly that this man was side by side with me and that he did not have to hit me. my doctor has released me and this attorney says that it may take years to settle this claim. why? the driver of the other vehicle was driving a company truck and the insurance company had contacted me when this accident first happened to try to settle with me but I wouldn't talk with them because I had not gotten an attorney yet. Is this as complicated as this attorney is telling me or is he trying to draw it out. I have been put in a financial crisis which could leave me homeless were it not for an understanding and sympathetic landlord. I already owe this man over 5,000.00 and have lost my car. There have been several lenders who have agreed to lend me money if my attorney would fill the papers that they sent to him, but he won't do this either. I am tired. this attorney is also telling me that I cannot get the other driver for road rage. is this true.
