With my previous employer I have ESOP and I am trying to roll it into and IRA that I opened with my bank. I took my information that the employer sent me to the bank an was told by the financial officer that I could open the Traditional IRA and then have the retirement account balance sent to the bank. I did as she suggested. I gave my bank information to the previous employer and they issued the ESOP in the form of a stock certificate and a check for the cash balance. I have no problem with the check however the bank now, after showing them on paper what I had to rollover, tells me they do not accept stock. How can I get their name off of the stock certificate? Is it possible to have it re-issued? What are my options?
