I've been living in my friends apt for over 3 months now. I have paid rent all this time. He wants me to move out because I don't do any housework. Everything else is going good. Is this legal even in California to have a roomate kick you out for no just cause.

My response:

Your landlord must follow the CA Civil Code; i.e., give you a 30 day Notice to Vacate. Damages can be quite severe if your landlord fails to follow the law - - dot all the i's and cross all the t's.
