What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? ARIZONA

I have had two roomates move in with me approx 3 months ago. We had a verbal contract. After the 1st month the landlord approached the two roomates (who are not on the lease) and asked them for their part of the money. a month later it happend again. I would of been caught up with rent if their money was put towards the rent that I have to pay. Then I got an eviction notice. The landlord did not put any of the money that my roomates gave to her towards my rent. I am the only one on the lease. Is it legal for the landlord to accept money from people who are not on the lease? They are denying money was ever exchanged. They are flat out lying now. I go to court tomorrow. Am I getting stuck with the rent that they paid her. I have proof they lived with me but no proof of money exchanging hands between them, only verbally by my roomates. The landlord knew they moved in with me right away, but there was no written consent. What do I do?

**A: what do you do? The answer is obvious. Pay your rent.

You seem to have a very convoluted story and problem. It is hard to read your posts and understand exactly what is going on.

If your "roommates" paid this manager under the table and it was cash with no written receipts... you have a hard case to prove to the judge why you have not paid your rent.

There is nothing we can do here for you; you have to try your luck again in court.
