I am 3 months into my second 12 month lease at this townhouse. Due to the current state of the economy I was forced to a graveyard shift at work. My roommate lost his job almost 6 months ago and has since found a source of income in certain illegal products, and more than the first thing that comes to mind. Along with my being uncomfortable with this happening under the roof I dwell, his two kids (ages 1 and 3) wake up at 9 am, and with me getting off work at 8 am, I'm lucky if I get two hours of sleep a day. To tie it up just add in the destructive power of a three year old to all my living room furniture (cabinet doors ripped off, dining room table bar stools stripped of paint and non repairable chips) and you can see why I'm finally asking this question. Given all these circumstances, is there a way for me to legally get out of my lease with my hands clean? I'm in my early twenties with a near perfect credit score (no easy feat) and would hate to mess that up. Normally, I would not have a problem just calling the local police to turn something like this in but not only is he my roommate, he's my girlfriends brother and I'd like to create as few waves as possible so family get-togethers remain civil. Thank you very much for any and all help
