My problem is that I signed a sept-sept lease with another girl for a 2 bedroom apartment. She knew that I needed to sublet my room during the summer months May-Aug. However, we are no longer friends and she is trying to make things very difficult for me. After great difficulty I was able to convince her to let someone else move in for May and June but now she is absolutely refusing to even consider allowing anyone else to move in for July and Aug. I've had several acceptable people reply to my advertisments but I've lost all of them sue to her lack of co-operation. My landlord says they can't let anyone else move in without her consent, but my lease says that she can't "unreasonably" prevent me from subletting. The problem is - she has already done that. Can I hold her responsible for the money I'm going to lose?

Yes. Sue her for the 1/2 of the rent you have to pay in June-August. Once you have a judgment & she's going to have to pay you 1/2 the rent and the landlord 1/2 the rent, she'll find a new subletter right quick. Or not. It's her choice. Sue in small claims court. You'll get your court costs too.
