First is there a S.O.L. on shoplifting? I know they have to catch a person leaving the store with a item on their person, but what I'm refering to is if they have video of the act how much time between the actual act and when they file an official complaint?

I am a law school graduate. WHat I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Well, basically, there is a reasonableness threshold. If the prosecution was diligent in looking for the accomplice, and found them, then a person can be charged, etc.

However, in order to determine if there is a specific SOL on shoplifting, contact your local Public Defender and ask anonymously.

Hope this helps.
