What is the name of your state? California

Hello,

I received a check for the sale of our family home. I have my copy of the Will, but nothing else. My sister was the executor of my parents estate whom are both deceased.

Question:

I trust her, but how can I get all documents regarding the probate sale & distribution of my parents estate/assets? The check amount seems fair (split 3-ways), but I'm in the dark as far as how it was handled.

Thank You!What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

Go to the county courthouse probate court and look at what documents have been submitted. If probate is still going on now, all of the documents may not be in there yet and you just might need to be patient until everything is finished.

AS to the house sale, the closing statement will show all closing costs and disbursements out of proceeds. You can tell from that if each party recieved their equitable share of proceeds from the real property sale and what, if any other debts to the estate were paid out of proceeds (Such a liens and judgements).

Thanks. Where do I get the closing statement? From the Administrator? Executor? Court House?

Was the check cut from a title company or attorney trust account? Try calling them! Or the PR of the estate.
