my brother and i own a home together which he has offered to buy me out of. there is a mortgage on the home which we are both responsible for. what is the best way for me to sell my half of the home to him so that i can be assured that i have no future liability or connection to the home whatsoever?

Easy, have brother buy out your interest in the property by refinancing the mortgage loan so that you are off the loan.
