What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

I work for a Florida company that pays salary plus commission. Last week the sales territories were changed and I was told that it would be back dated to the first of the month. Effectively, this took $22k worth of commissionable sales from my name and attached them to the sales rep that would be taking over my territory. Is this possible for them to do under FL employment law or would this be covered in my sales compensation plan? Thank you very much.

Thank you CBG

If that is something that is not expressly mentioned in the commission agreement, would anything extrinsic determine that answer?

FL has some of the weakest wage and hour laws in the country, and there is no state DOL to enforce what ones they do have. Federal law does not care as long as minimum wage and overtime rules are met for non-exempt employees, and that the rules for the sales exemption are followed for exempt employees. Neither says anything about this situation. So it's really going to come down to your agreement. If your agreement doesn't address it, then you and the employer are going to have to come to an agreement.
