Hi – I am hoping someone can share advice on next steps for me in dealing with the insurance company after an auto accident.

Here is what has happened already:
After the accident occurred, I felt that it was unsafe to deal with the other driver on my own because he was aggressive before the accident and I can only imagine how mad he would be after the accident. After I found a safe place to pull over – the other driver is already gone.

I called my insurance company and submitted a claim that day. A few days later, someone from the same insurance company that I use called me asking about the accident but didn’t seem to know that I already submitted claim. It turns we have the SAME company! I am waiting to hear back from my adjuster – but I am wondering if I should seek a third party lawyer since the accident involved the same insurance company? Or what I should do next?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Having the same insurance company usually makes things go more smoothly. The insurance company knows that they have to pay, no matter what, so they are less aggressive.
