I want to install a satellite dish at my apt. My current signed lease has no stipulations about installation and liability of adding your own satellite dish. Now the apt. wants me:
1. to sign an addendum to my lease agreement with restrictions relating to installation,
2. they want an additional security deposit of $100.,
3. they want proof of liability insurance coverage of $100,000.
Can they force me to comply with the 3 issues above when it is not in my current lease?

See that paragraph in your lease saying you can't install any fixtures and/or that any items permanently installed become L's property? A satellite dish is a fixture unless it just sits on your deck without being bolted to anything. They can require anythin they like. Consider yourself lucky -- I won't let tenants install dishes at all.
If you want a dish, you have to comply with all 3 provisions.

This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws.
