What is the name of your state? South Carolina
I have worked previously in North Carolina where there was a tax law the eliminated the NC State tax for transfers of Intellectual Property (software purchase) when you received the Intellectual Property (software) as an electronic download or the buyer provided the media that the Intellectual Property was provided on (you only had to pay state tax if they provided the software on their media - an actual transfer of a tangible asset).
Does anyone know if South Carolina has a similar law with respect to the transfer of Intellectual Property and the tax consequences.
