What is the name of your state?Florida

My husband and I are filing for bankruptcy as soon as we get the funds to do so. The last week I've gotten two letters from my creditors stating they are going to call lawyers and take legal action against me. Can I go to Jail for this? What's going to happen? My husband says don't call them since we don't have the money to pay and there really isn't anything to say. How should I handle this?

Call the florida bar association for a low-cost bankruptcy attorney in your area. You can find the number online or in the phone book.

And your husband is correct. If you can't pay the bills (and aren't just trying to get out of them) then do not call. Your attorney will take care of that unpleasantness for you.

You'll have enough stress in your life. Don't add to it.
