What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland (MD)

My ex and I recently completed a mediation session, voluntarily. From these sessions, we created a "parenting agreement," illustrating our agreed-upon schedule of who keeps the kids on what days, etc. Before the mediation, I filed for sole custody of my kids. My ex and I just had a "scheduling conference" at the Court house, in regards to my filing and my ex's contest to the filing. The judge asked if either of us would like to change anything within our parenting plan or with the filings - both of us said "no." The judge was quite delighted and said that our case was closed - what does this exactly mean? I am asking this, because we both have been ordered to take a family law/court workshop class -- but would this be necessary if the case is closed? Are we going to receive an actual court date for the custody filing? What happens next? I don't know who to ask for help on this! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Its sounds to me like the judge signed off on your parenting agreement, and therefore the case is closed. Your parenting plan becomes the court order.

but since it was ordered, they would still have to take the family law workshop?

i'm thinking as long as it's not a parenting class, then maybe they are off the hook for that. since the family law portion is not "needed".
