if you're still with me, I thank you.

Situation:
I was suspended in the 4th quarter. According to the handbook, I forfeit my 4th quarter Gold Pride Card.
fact- you need 2 gold cards to exempt 2 exams.
I got 3 gold cards in quarters 1-3.

but the school administrators say that getting suspended automatically voids my privelege to exempt exams.

Please help.
Please ask questions. Finals are coming up and I don't want to be unsure of what to study.

Thanks a lot!!!

ps- i know i'm being vague, and not explaining things well, but it's 11pm and I gotta go!

Excellence Incentive Program “Operation Pride”
Gold Pride Card
1. All grades of “A” for each grading period based upon the
grading scale. Grades in A.P. and honor courses will be
weighted (verified by report card each grading period).
2. No attendance problems (verified each grading period).
3. No discipline referrals of Saturday School (SS),
Alternative Learning Center (A.L.C.), or Out of School
Suspension (OSS).
4. Cards are issued each grading period to students enrolled
in Grades 9–12.
5. No grades of “WD” or “WF” for current grading period.

I don't think you have an argument. Numbers 1 and 2 identify that they will be verified each grading period. Number 3 has no such limitation. The district could and should make this make this point clearer.

but it must be verified every quarter. gold cards are issued every quarter. if you get suspended in quarter 1, you are eligible to earn a gold card in quarter 2.
yes, this is very vague.

Good news, however- they called me down, and the 3 vice principals and the head principal discovered that they were not consistent in giving answers to students. They agreed to a common interpretation- that I was indeed allowed to exempt.
They have confirmed that next year the handbook will be edited to negate exam exemptions if you have any disciplinary problems in ANY quarter.

Thanks for the help.
