what recourse do i have if a school i attened closed down due to embezzlement? I attended Ess College of Buisness in Dallas Texas and it was closed down because of embezzlement. As a student i was not notifed of this until i recieve a bill that was $15K from the loan company. I did some research and found out what happend but was not able to get any information on what to do or who to contact. I went to apply for school and was told i couldnt becuase of the outstanding loan. I was told i would never be able to go back to school unless i paid to get the loan out of default and was put on a payment plan .

what happened with the school has no bearing on you owing 15k in the student loan. you will need to get a payment plan negotiated.

Does it take a business degree to know you have to pay your loans? It looks like it's time to take care of business, if you plan to go back to school.
