Won't let me fill out all the way

We have a issue with a home we just moved into, this home has a issue with its address, it's had a incorrect address for over 25 years due to it being a vacation home and no one needing to look into it. We are well within boundary and district borders of the school my child has been in since kindergarten however today without notice our super sent home a letter saying that tomorrow would be our hilda last day. We have been in contact with the districts supervisor and he said he is working on it. We did email him again after this today. Our hold is in special classes for help with learning. We provided maps, boundary lines, latitude and longitude etc proving we are well within the boundary and she had no care to look it over and help us. If the district super cannot act fast enough to help us what other leg can we stand on? When we first looked at this home the realtor online census websites etc all said we were in our district still.

Are you located in a township with one zip code and the school is located in a city with another zip code?

The only thing faster than a decision from a superintendent would be an emergency order from the court. The burdens to get such an order are high and I don't think they can be met in a situation like this. There is no way to even try without an attorney.

I think all the eggs are in the basket of the superintendent. If that decision goes against you, you might find it better to plan for the new school rather than fight the decision. There may be some district process to go through after a decision but before litigation (Like petitioning the school board.), but, that is a hard road too.

Is your child on an IEP or a 501 plan? Is the school they are asserting you belong in within the same district?

There are lawyers that specialize in educational issues such as this. You should call one immediately.

The superintendent and principal are not the ones dealing with the nitty gritty - the school district staff are. The letter you received is based on information that was conveyed to their offices by that staff.

You recourse is the department in your school district that handles registration. Go there. Be polite (obviously), and ask what would be satisfactory proof that you live in the correct area.

Sometimes different people in that department will give you different answers.
