MY DAUGHTER WAS KNOCKED DOWN ON THE PLAYGROUND AT SCHOOL. HER HEAD HIT THE CEMENT AND SHE SUFFERED A CONCUSSION. THE SCHOOL DID NOT CONTACT ME TO TELL ME SHE WAS HURT, EVEN THOUGH SHE WENT TO THE NURSES OFFICE. I TOOK HER TO THE E.R. IN THE EVENING AFTER I REALIZED HER HEADACHE AND VOMITTING COULD BE A RESULT OF THIS FALL. SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CONCUSSION. IS THE SCHOOL RESPONSIBLE FOR HER MEDICAL BILLS?

Not necessarily is the school liable; it will depend on state law; some states give schools immunity and where not immunity generally need to show that the school or its employees were somehow negligent in their duties. However, if there is a claim, most states have very strict rules, procedures and time limits that govern bringing claims against governmental entities such as schools and failure to comply with these procedures and time limits can be fatal to any claims that do exist. Therefore see an experienced injury attorney asap before any rights that you do have are jeopardized by any additional delay.
