What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I am a freshman and I was recently assigned a school project, which is to make a video that is 4-6 minutes long. In class, we decided to have one of our friends help us edit the video, which I'm pretty sure is against the school policy.

We finished the video this past weekend, however when we were done, our friend who helped edit the video said that I have to give him $25 or he won't give me the video. They have mentioned it in the past, but I never agreed. My partner forked up the money, and when I didn't, they got really livid at me. I decided to make my own video, since paying money to help someone is really against the rules. I also told my partner the following words through text messages, and sent him a picture of the Academic Integrity Policy, which is on the above document.

"Basically u can make ur own [video] and turn it in tomorrow, or i'll probably just tell Chambers [our teacher] u paid someone to edit ur video"

He didn't believe me, and so today in school, I turned my own video in, and told the teacher how my partner is paying someone to edit the video. The teacher said that that's probably against the rules, and I'll have a talk with your partner.

He ended up having to redo the whole video and turn it in tomorrow. But instead, my partner's mom talked to the teacher and he was able to get off, and turn in the video that I worked on with him, although I don't know if his grade will be affected.

Here is the problem, however. My partner's mom got very mad at me, and scheduled a meeting with the principle and the teacher after school. Apparently she is accusing me of blackmailing my partner, due to my text mentioned above, and accusing me of fraud, because I didn't pay. I was just wondering can I get into any trouble, and how can I respond to this. For the video that I turned in myself, I did not have any help whatsoever, so I was also wondering if that is still considered cheating since I turned in my own video in the end. Thank!
