Hi
I have a situation that has ended up extending my college carreer about 3yrs.
starting in Spr 2001.
I enrolled in an Interior Design program at this college i now attend and from day one i could never get over 9hrs a semester. I had ambitions to attend an (registered) Architect Grad School after the Undergrad the Interior Design degree was complete it was nothing but a stepping stone more or less to begin with. I remained in the program for almost 2yrs , with only 8-9 classes left they told me upon that semesters advicement it would take me 3yrs to complete those classes that i had left.
I was like WOE!!!!!!!!
Doing the math thats 3yrs in Jr.College 2yrs in University + 3more yrs .....
thats 8 yrs for an Undergrad for an Interior Design degree!!!!???
So i switched out of the major to another degree the college offered Architectural Engineering Technology. Which i had already taken 18hrs in as a minor b/c the Intierior design major could not provide me with full time enrollement. Now I am 3 classes from completeing the Architectural and I am thinking what to do with all those Interior design classes i have that i have nothing to prove i have even been to school for those classes. The reason why as I found out early on, is the Interior design major has not got enough funding or facuality for the amount of students enrolled (which is not a lot anyway). What makes it worse after switching over to the Architectural degree i found out the school is not a registered architect school which means i still can not become a registered architect. After all this time I still won't be able to become what I am good at. It has taken 3yrs in the Architectural Eng. major and because of the higher math classes: Calculus one and two , not to mention the engineering math classes which total about 4-5. I have a poor GPA now. I could not even get into a grad school unless i worked for about another 12hrs with straight A's to get it up to a 2.6 ( thats a rough estimate) . So i feel that coming to this University has been a waste of time. I couldn't move because i am the only one supporting myself.
What kind of legal action could i take against the University to draw some kind of compensation out of the wasted time due to their incompentance and leading me astray with my goals.
Thank you
